This was created as a presentation piece at an awards reception. I was honored with the Angie Southard Award for excellence in art, with an emphasis in graphic arts at the University of Northern Colorado in 2005.
Compiling quotes typographically with original photography and digital media, this piece is a visualization of my philosophy regarding design and communication arts at the time.
“the idea of one’s own self image is constantly being challenged…commercialized showcase continues to push forth superficial morals and values…as a whole are debilitating…progressively more and more difficult to stand up for the person and individual one truly is…the everpresent pressure of conformitynormality…it seems I have always been attracted to the subtleties of the internal aura which oftentimes affects the outside whole…many ideas are for the most part overlooked by the conventional stereotypes of beauty…it is this redirected thought of what makes something special that continues to push my imagery forward”

An idea like this is very distressing. We must fight this!
